Become Part of History
Always Challenging... Always Enjoyable
"Older clubs have histories and physical attributes that must be protected." - Bob Lohmann, Past President, American Society of Golf Course Architects
In the late 1990's, Midlothian called upon noted golf course architect Bob Lohmann to develop a long-range plan for the golf course. In keeping with this plan, the members, professional staff and Lohmann Golf Designs have since enlarged and enhanced teeing areas; replaced irrigation and drainage systems and strengthened the finishing hole by expanding the lake on the right side of the fairway and adding a new pond on the left side near the green.
Fairway and approach bunkers have been repositioned to emphasize turning points and landing areas and all 81 bunkers have been refurbished in a steep-faced, flat-bottomed style in keeping with the classic beauty of H.J. Tweedie's original course design. Midlothian has gained national recognition as one of the country's finest examples of historic golf course restoration.
